Through the several years of modeling and texturing, I thought I would slow down a bit and create something festive. This render called " Believe " is more than just a short exercise, it's about understanding the notion of what we're told about Santa. If you saw Polar Express, you will know what I mean. This exercise entailed three simple things; the model, the texture, and the idea. I idea: It all started out with an idea I saw in a movie where a child is beginning to question the idea of what Christmas is all about and if Santa is real. Some of us believe and others do not. Whichever road you choose to take, that is yours and yours alone. For those that believe, we are taught that anything happens when you truly believe. The bell becomes the symbol of hope with a ringing noise for those that do believe. I love this idea and decided I wanted to model that bell and give a hint of Santa. Do you see what I see?

Ever since I dived into the 3D modeling profession, I've learned a lot when it comes to modeling, lighting, material, and rendering. Blender for me, has made this journey much more rewarding than a challenge. Sure, there are always learning curves to be had from any new 3D or 2D software, but it's what you do with that new found knowledge that will take you to the next step. I began to use Blender simply as an experiment for modeling. After exploring other programs, I find that Blender has a ready-to-go, user friendly user interface that is customizable to fit your needs. You can manipulate just about any object, model, space, and/or scene that fits your project goal while render within the same software. The engineers at the Blender Foundation have done exceptional work in the software development that it still amazes me how easy it is to use this program and produce stunning rendered images, animations, movies, and graphics.
